PROCESS OF FORGIVENESS

1.    TAKE OWNERSHIP OF YOUR EMOTIONS

-       When the Holy Spirit reminds you of a specific situation or event(trauma) where you need healing, ask the Holy Spirit to remind you of the emotions you experienced during that time.

-       Write down all these emotions, e.g. I felt betrayed, I felt a failure, I felt like committing suicide because I didn't feel worthy, etc.

2.    FORGIVENESS

-       Forgive the person for each of these emotions you experienced

-       And release him/her into the freedom of your forgiveness
-     E.g. Lord, I forgive this person for betraying/rejecting/etc me and I release him/her into the freedom of my forgiveness.

-       Pray through all the emotions

3.    REPENTANCE

-  Ask forgiveness for your ungodly actions and reactions in the situation.  Maybe you cursed the person or wished he/she was dead.  Repent of it.

4.    RELEASE THEM OF ALL JUDGEMENTS

-       Repent of judging them – God is the only Judge, we have no right to judge

-       Ask the Holy Spirit to remind you of any judgements that you hold against the person

-       Release them of those judgements and vow before God never to judge them again

5.    RELEASE THEM OF ALL DEBTS

-       If you hold the person in debt for his/her bad actions to you, you need to release them of all debt

-       They don’t owe you anything

6.    BREAK THE POWER OF INNER VOWS

-       If you ever spoke a vow over yourself – ‘I will never be like my mother’

-       Those words were not spoken out of God’s heart

-       The devil takes it and makes it true because he knows it will bring destruction

-       Repent of it

-       And break the power of those words over your life

7.    BREAK UNGODLY SOUL TIES

-       Ties are formed through our relationship with other people

-       Body, soul and spirit ties

-       Break any ungodly soul ties and ask the Lord to return to them what belongs to them and to return to you what belongs to you.

8.    BREAK THE POWER OF THE DEMONIC OPPRESSION

-       The devil had a right to oppress you because of the un-forgiveness and bitterness that you harbored.

-       Repentance and forgiveness takes his legal right away

-       Therefor, you now have the legal right to cast him out in the Name of Jesus.
-      Go back to the list of emotions.  If one of the emotions were betrayal, for example, you now say 'Spirit of betrayal, I rebuke you in the Name of Jesus.  You have no legal right in my life anymore.  Be loosed from me, now, in the Name of Jesus.'  Pray this for each one of the emotions you wrote down in the first point.

9.    INFILLING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

-       The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth
-     Invite the Holy Spirit to come and take the place of bitterness, un-forgiveness, betrayal, rejection (all the things mentioned in step nr. 1)

-       Invite the Holy Spirit to bring healing and show you the truth about the situation
-     Ask the Holy Spirit to fill you with His love and presence.

10. BLESS THE PERSON

-       Start praying from a healed heart for the person that hurt you.

-       This in itself will bring healing to your heart.
